Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager
Full-Time | Day Shift
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00am–4:00pm (rotating weekends/holidays)
Position Summary
Responsible for the overall coordination and management of histology, cytology, and MOHS laboratories to ensure high-quality testing, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations. Oversees laboratory leadership staff and supports departmental goals, quality initiatives, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of anatomic pathology laboratories
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards
- Supervise and support laboratory leadership and technical staff
- Oversee quality control programs, turnaround times, and reporting
- Manage staffing, payroll, hiring, evaluations, and competency requirements
- Develop departmental goals, budgets, and capital equipment plans
- Maintain effective communication with staff, leadership, vendors, and interdisciplinary teams
- Promote a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment
- Support laboratory systems, instrumentation, and software utilization
- Participate in committees, performance improvement, and educational activities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Technology or related science
- Minimum 6 years of relevant hospital laboratory experience
- Current NYS license (Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists’ Assistant)
- ASCP certification preferred
