Respiratory Care Manager
Location: Tulsa, OK
Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Manager leads and oversees respiratory care services, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient departmental operations. This role is responsible for staff leadership, clinical quality, budgeting, education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate respiratory care services, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate respiratory care staff; ensure timely performance reviews and staff competency.
- Ensure compliance with licensure requirements, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines.
- Assign staff based on clinical expertise, patient needs, and operational demands.
- Implement and monitor quality indicators and therapist-driven protocols.
- Promote patient safety and support the adoption of new technologies.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the departmental budget; analyze expenses and address variances.
- Evaluate equipment and supply requests for clinical effectiveness and cost efficiency.
- Ensure appropriate patient scheduling and resource availability.
- Facilitate staff education, orientation, and ongoing professional development; conduct regular staff meetings.
- Collaborate with physicians, patients, and interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care.
- Participate in committees and support process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- 3–4 years of related respiratory care experience.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, disease management, and technology.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
Education
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business preferred.
Licensure & Certification
- Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care license.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within two months of hire).
