Certified Surgical Technologist
(Full Time, Days)

Job Summary
Our growing, locally owned and managed, not-for-profit health system is looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist to support safe, efficient surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile operating room environment and assisting the surgical team throughout all phases of care. This role works under the supervision of a surgeon to ensure proper setup, instrumentation, patient positioning, and adherence to sterile technique in an acute care hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain professionalism and positive customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers
- Prepare operating rooms, supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures
- Ensure availability and readiness of sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping
- Establish and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures
- Perform initial and ongoing instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with circulator
- Participate in patient and surgical site verification (time-out)
- Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments and supplies during procedures
- Prepare and properly handle surgical specimens
- Assist with lifting, turning, and positioning patients using proper body mechanics
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
- Assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room
- Follow standard precautions and use appropriate PPE at all times
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be flexible, punctual, and willing to learn in the surgical environment

Licenses & Certifications
- Certified by the NBSTSA required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
