Director of Nursing (DON) RN
Rehabilitation
M-F Day shift
7am-5pm
Role Overview:
The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing services, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality resident care while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership: Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and outcomes; collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to resolve quality-of-care concerns.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise nursing personnel (RNs, LPNs, CNAs); manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (CMS); lead survey preparations, audits, and policy development.
- Quality & Safety: Drive QAPI initiatives, oversee infection control, and manage risk management programs to maintain best practices in long-term care.

Requirements:
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse License (Verified by Nursys). – [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
- Associate Degree in Nursing. – [REQUIRED]
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. – [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
- Current Basic Life Support Certification – [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
- Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing – [REQUIRED]
- At least 3 – 5 years of nursing experience. – [REQUIRED]
- Infection Preventionist Certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire, free program offered through CMS)
- Experience in Matrix EMR. – [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
