Dental Hygienist Opportunity
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, confident in clinical skills, and committed to providing high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care. This role supports the dentist in delivering exceptional patient experiences while promoting oral health education and long-term patient relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings (prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance)
- Conduct oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and evaluation of gum health
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Administer local anesthesia as permitted by state regulations
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Review medical histories and update patient records accurately
- Identify conditions such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, and other oral abnormalities
- Assist the dentist during exams and procedures as needed
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols
- Ensure operatories are prepared, clean, and fully stocked
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Active state Dental Hygiene license in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Local anesthesia certification (if applicable to state regulations)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of dental software and digital radiography systems preferred
