Position Summary
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the overall leadership and management of surgical departments, including staffing, operations, budgeting, and quality outcomes. This role ensures efficient patient flow, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals while promoting a culture focused on excellence in care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Clinical Excellence
- Lead initiatives to improve patient safety, clinical outcomes, and quality of care using evidence-based practices
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal standards
- Monitor and reduce variation in clinical practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee equipment maintenance and operational readiness
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and clinical standards
- Promote effective care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ensure appropriate staffing and competency alignment to meet patient care needs
Patient Experience
- Drive strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and overall experience
- Foster a culture focused on compassionate, patient-centered care
- Utilize feedback and performance data to identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to implement best practices in service delivery
Leadership & People Development
- Build and sustain a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant leadership experience (required)
- 3+ years of relevant experience (preferred)
