ITS Regulatory Application Analyst III – REMOTE!

We are seeking a highly experienced ITS Regulatory Application Analyst III to support regulatory compliance initiatives within a complex healthcare environment. This role plays a critical part in aligning technology systems with clinical workflows to meet federal, state, and local program requirements, ultimately driving both quality outcomes and organizational performance.
This position operates in a highly visible capacity, partnering with senior leadership, IT teams, and clinical stakeholders. The ideal candidate is both a regulatory subject matter expert and a versatile technology professional who thrives in a collaborative yet independent work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a regulatory expert, ensuring systems and workflows support compliance with assigned programs such as inpatient and outpatient quality reporting initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT teams to design and optimize EHR configurations that support quality and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects related to regulatory compliance and reporting.
- Evaluate clinical and business workflows to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory standards.
- Interpret and translate regulatory requirements into system build specifications and reporting logic.
- Analyze system updates and enhancements to determine necessary changes for compliance and reporting accuracy.
- Provide consultative guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory impacts and system capabilities.
- Monitor and assess new and updated regulations, including rulemaking changes, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Create detailed documentation, including functional specifications and reporting requirements.
- Mentor and support junior analysts, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain required system certifications and pursue additional credentials as needed.
Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certifications
- Minimum of one Epic clinical application certification (inpatient or ambulatory required).
- EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation strongly preferred.
- Epic Reporting Workbench certification is a plus.
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications as required.
Experience
- At least 7 years of experience within a healthcare setting.
- Minimum of 5 years in an information systems role such as a senior analyst or project manager.
- Experience supporting regulatory or clinical quality initiatives, ideally within a large or academic medical center.
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with regulatory programs such as inpatient and outpatient quality reporting initiatives (e.g., IQR, OQR, IPFQR, CQI programs).
- Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of leading large, interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex data and systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across diverse teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to leadership audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Understanding of change management and system governance processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of clinical quality measures and reporting methodologies is preferred.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves).
- Active Epic clinical application certification (inpatient or ambulatory)
- 7+ years of healthcare industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior analyst, systems analyst, or project management role.
