RN Clinical Manager – Operating Room
Location: Houston, TX
Relocation Bonus Available:
The RN Clinical Manager – Operating Room is responsible for overseeing daily departmental operations, leading and developing staff, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role utilizes the nursing process and evidence-based practices to promote optimal patient outcomes across multiple surgical service lines.
Schedule:
Split/Evening Shift (typically 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM based on operational needs)
Team Scope:
Oversight of approximately 67 FTEs, including Registered Nurses, Surgical Technologists, and Coordinators across evening, weekend, and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate daily operations of the Operating Room during assigned shifts
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for clinical and support staff
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care delivery
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Oversee staffing, workflow, and resource utilization across service lines
- Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance
- Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, and professional development
Service Line Oversight:
- Neurosurgery
- Plastics
- Orthopedics
- ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room acute care clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, or Manager)
- Active, unencumbered Texas RN license
