This is an opportunity to work alongside a Nurse Practitioner in a collaborative outpatient clinic setting where patients receive personalized, high-touch care and team members are empowered to make an impact every day.
The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering exceptional care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. You will partner closely with the Nurse Practitioner to support a panel of senior patients through clinical care, coordination, patient education, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Room patients, obtain vitals, histories, and medication reviews.
- Prepare patients for exams, tests, and procedures.
- Assist with vaccinations, EKGs, ABI testing, spirometry, and other approved procedures.
- Draw blood, collect specimens, and prepare lab shipments.
- Support medication refill requests and prior authorizations.
- Provide education on prevention, lifestyle, and chronic disease management.
Care Coordination
- Schedule follow-up visits, labs, imaging, and referrals.
- Retrieve outside records and manage clinical documentation.
- Follow up with patients, caregivers, pharmacies, hospitals, and specialists.
- Help patients navigate resources related to their care plan.
Clinic Operations
- Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day.
- Stock rooms, maintain supplies, and support equipment readiness.
- Ensure infection control and safety compliance.
- Monitor vaccine inventory, medication storage, logs, and quality standards.
Team & Culture
- Create an outstanding patient experience.
- Collaborate closely with providers and teammates.
- Participate in team meetings and community outreach efforts.
- Support coworkers and provide coverage when needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of Medical Assistant training/onboarding program
- 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Primary Care experience preferred
- BLS certification (preferred)
- Laboratory experience preferred
