Lead a Best-in-Class Benefits Program at One of Houston’s Premier Healthcare Systems
This is a rare executive-level opportunity to own and elevate the total rewards strategy for a large, complex integrated healthcare system in Houston, Texas. As Director of Benefits, you will design, implement, and administer comprehensive benefit programs that attract and retain top-performing talent — while ensuring full legal compliance and driving measurable ROI across a sophisticated benefits portfolio.

What You’ll Do
As Director of Benefits you will design, develop, and administer best-practice benefit programs aligned with total rewards strategy and business objectives, partner with the Director of Compensation, Manager of HRIS, and VP of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS to execute a cohesive Total Rewards program, direct and be ultimately responsible for the Benefits team, maintain and cultivate relationships with external consultants, actuaries, and outsourcing service partners, ensure all company-sponsored plans are fully compliant with PPA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, DOL, IRS, and ERISA reporting and disclosure requirements, evaluate and implement accurate processes to maintain efficiency of benefit delivery, collaborate with ISD and HRIS to design and develop system enhancements and automated enrollment tools, serve as the primary liaison and escalation resource for the Human Resource Service Center, ensure effective and accurate benefit communications across the organization, and develop metrics to measure the ROI of all benefit programs.

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR Management, or related discipline — required | Master’s degree preferred
- CBP or CEBS certification — preferred
- 10+ years of experience managing benefits operations in a complex integrated healthcare system or multi-divisional company — required
- Experience with plan design, evaluation, compliance, and implementation for health and welfare, pension, 403(b), 401(k), non-qualified, life, AD&D, short-term disability, and voluntary benefits — required
- Prior HRIS database experience — required
- Proven leadership skills with ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
- Experience with COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and healthcare reform law — required
- Wellness plan development and implementation experience — desirable
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Must be willing to relocate to Houston, TX
