HEALTHCARE AREA SALES MANAGER- HOSPICE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced healthcare sales and community outreach professional to oversee and support a team of community liaisons across assigned markets. This role is responsible for team leadership, performance management, training, market development, and identifying opportunities to increase referrals and census growth.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of healthcare sales, hospice services, referral development, and local market dynamics, along with demonstrated leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities of community liaisons, ensuring team members are effectively engaging referral sources, managing target accounts, and meeting performance expectations.
- Training & Development: Provide hands-on training, coaching, and ongoing support to community liaisons to strengthen sales, relationship-building, account management, and community outreach skills.
- Performance Reporting: Monitor sales activity and key performance indicators, including visit frequency, referrals, account activity, and other regional metrics. Prepare regular reports and use performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Recruitment & Staffing: Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and developing community liaison team members as needed to support market growth and organizational objectives.
- Market Development: Monitor local and regional market trends, competitive activity, referral patterns, and industry best practices. Use market insights to develop strategies that strengthen referral relationships and support census growth.
- Relationship Management: Help establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, referral sources, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
- Regional Travel: Spend significant time in assigned markets providing field support, coaching team members, developing relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of four years of healthcare sales, business development, or community liaison experience, preferably within hospice or a related healthcare setting.
- Minimum of two years of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of hospice services, applicable regulations, and referral development practices.
- Demonstrated success in increasing patient census, referrals, or market share within a local or regional healthcare market.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze performance data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, with approximately 70% of time spent in assigned markets.
- Valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
