Optometrist — Lancaster, PA
Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Optometrist to join an established retail-based optometry practice located within a major membership retail store in Lancaster, PA.
This is a clinical optometry position focused on patient care — not sales. The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and educate patients on their overall eye health.
The position offers full-time hours with a flexible schedule, making it an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist seeking a strong work-life balance while maintaining a full-time clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages
- Conduct refractions and evaluate overall ocular health
- Diagnose, treat, and manage ocular conditions and diseases
- Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses as appropriate
- Identify ocular conditions requiring additional evaluation or specialty care
- Provide patient education regarding eye health and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Deliver professional, compassionate, patient-centered care
- Collaborate with optical staff to provide a seamless patient experience
- Follow all applicable state regulations and professional standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unrestricted Optometry license
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to high-quality patient care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
- Retail optometry experience is a plus, but not required
