Nurse Manager, Labor and Delivery (Days) | Dallas, TX
In the $106K+ range based on experience. Sign-on and relocation considered case by case.
A major tertiary care hospital in Dallas is hiring a Nurse Manager for its high-volume Labor and Delivery unit: 17 LDRs, 4 triage rooms, 4 ORs and 5,400+ deliveries a year, with a large accreta program. The unit’s two managers share responsibility for about 120 FTEs.
What you’ll do
- Own all departmental functions for Labor and Delivery in support of the hospital’s mission and goals.
- Build cost-effective systems for the department based on business trends, resources and changing patient needs.
- Manage fiscal and human resource allocation; build strong working relationships with patients, physicians, staff and vendors.
- Develop the plan of care for the service based on RN assessment and reassessment.
- Stay fully competent as an L&D staff nurse to step in during high census or minimal staffing.
What you’ll need
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (advanced degree preferred).
- 2 years of recent acute care L&D RN Supervisor experience (2 years of recent acute care L&D Charge Nurse experience also considered).
- Current Texas or compact RN license.
- BLS (AHA or American Red Cross); NRP within 3 months of hire; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring within 1 year of hire.
- Competence in L&D clinical practice.
