Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Dental Ceramist to join our dental laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have experience fabricating a variety of fixed dental restorations, with a strong emphasis on quality, accuracy, consistency, and efficient production.
This position is well suited for a ceramist who is comfortable working across a broad range of cases, including posterior and anterior crowns, bridges, implant restorations, and other fixed prosthetic work.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and finish a variety of ceramic and fixed dental restorations.
- Work primarily on posterior and general restorative cases while also handling routine anterior restorations.
- Perform ceramic layering, contouring, staining, glazing, and finishing.
- Work with materials such as zirconia, lithium disilicate, porcelain, and other laboratory ceramics.
- Finish and characterize restorations according to the prescription and required shade.
- Ensure proper anatomy, occlusion, contacts, contours, and emergence profiles.
- Evaluate restorations for fit, function, and overall quality before completion.
- Make necessary adjustments and corrections to ensure restorations meet laboratory standards.
- Work with CAD/CAM-designed restorations and complete final ceramic finishing as needed.
- Follow dentist prescriptions, laboratory specifications, and established quality-control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with technicians and management regarding case requirements and potential issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized case workflow while meeting production deadlines.
- Keep work areas, equipment, and instruments clean and properly maintained.
- Consistently follow laboratory safety and quality-control protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dental ceramist or dental laboratory technician.
- Hands-on experience with fixed prosthodontic restorations.
- Comfortable working with zirconia, lithium disilicate, and traditional ceramic systems.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, morphology, and restorative principles.
- Ability to produce consistent, functional, and natural-looking restorations.
- Good attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet established deadlines.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to producing consistent work.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with crowns and bridges.
- Experience with posterior zirconia and layered restorations.
- Experience with implant crowns and abutment restorations.
- Experience with CAD/CAM workflows.
- Experience with full-contour zirconia adjustments and characterization.
- Experience with occlusal adjustments and functional anatomy.
- Experience working in a production-oriented dental laboratory.
