Full-time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner opportunity in Heber Springs, AR. Join a facility-based provider team delivering specialized wound care to residents of skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. What You’ll Do
- Assess, diagnose and treat acute and chronic wounds for skilled nursing and long-term care residents
- Develop and manage individualized wound care treatment plans
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with Arkansas law
- Order, review and follow up on diagnostic tests and treatments
- Communicate regularly with nursing facility staff about changes in condition or care plans
- Collaborate with primary care providers and the interdisciplinary care team
- Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR
What You Bring
- Current, unrestricted Arkansas Nurse Practitioner license and NP board certification
- DEA registration optional
- Adult, family or geriatric clinical background with prior wound care experience
- Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous and mixed-etiology wounds, and staging pressure injuries per NPIAP guidelines
- Experience with wound VACs and pressure-relieving equipment
- Wound care certification strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain it
- Long-term care experience, EMR proficiency and strong interdisciplinary teamwork skills
