Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
Location: Lake Charles, LA
Status: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift or Night Shift – 3 x 12-hour shifts
A leading acute-care hospital in Lake Charles, LA is hiring experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses caring for adult patients across several medical-surgical units. In this role you will practice independently, manage both routine and complex care, and work alongside a supportive interdisciplinary team. New hires receive a structured orientation and are precepted by a trained staff member.
Units Hiring
- Acute Med-Surg
- Med-Surg (multiple units)
- Oncology Med-Surg
- Orthopedic/Stroke
What You’ll Do
- Practice independently while recognizing all relevant aspects of each patient situation
- Provide nursing care through the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation
What You Bring
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact (multistate) license
- BLS required
- 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time – 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Day shift and night shift positions available
- Pay range: $27.50 – $43.00 per hour
