Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Outpatient Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality rehabilitative services to patients in an outpatient setting. The Occupational Therapist will work with individuals across the lifespan to improve their ability to perform daily activities, enhance their independence, and maximize their quality of life. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, skilled in therapeutic interventions, and committed to empowering patients to achieve their goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation and Treatment:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities, strengths, and challenges.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address areas such as fine motor skills, activities of daily living (ADLs), sensory processing, and cognitive function.
  • Therapeutic Interventions:
  • Provide hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercises to improve motor coordination, strength, range of motion, and endurance.
  • Utilize adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and environmental modifications to support patients' independence and safety.
  • Offer guidance and training to patients and their families on strategies for home exercise programs and adaptive techniques.
  • Patient and Family Education:
  • Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and strategies for self-management.
  • Foster collaboration and active participation in therapy sessions to empower patients to achieve their therapeutic goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and a holistic approach to patient management.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to documentation and record-keeping.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in outpatient occupational therapy is preferred, but not required.
  • Open to new grads.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Working Conditions:

  • The position is based in an outpatient clinic or healthcare facility, where the Occupational Therapist will provide services to patients of all ages and diagnoses.
  • May involve occasional lifting and assisting patients with mobility.
  • Flexible schedule may be required to accommodate patient appointments.
