Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

Under the direction of a Staff Pharmacist, assists or supports the pharmacist as needed in all aspects of efficiently dispensing medication, providing accurate service, preparing invoices and bills, and ordering and maintaining drugs and medical supplies.

Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and medical equipment is required.
• Effective verbal and interpersonal skills are required. 
• Basic computer skills are required. 
• Familiarity with medical terminology, basic math, and reading comprehension skills are preferred.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must maintain current registration with the State of Practice Board of Pharmacy.
• One year of experience as a pharmacy technologist and six months in retail customer service.

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to stand up for an entire shift (8 to 12 hours), stoop and bend over, and lift moderate loads (up to 30 lbs.). 
• Hearing is sufficient to answer the telephone, and eyesight is needed to read prescriptions and job orders.
