CT Technologist – Full Time
Schedule: Various full-time positions open - Evenings
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 - $30,000
Salary Range: $49.92 – $60.32/hour
Position Summary
Performs routine and select specialized imaging procedures. Prepares patients for exams and assists physicians as needed. Operates, maintains, and cares for imaging equipment. Processes images and related media when required. Adheres to established imaging and safety standards. Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, oneself, and others. Assumes responsibility for assigned duties and supports general customer service expectations. Performs additional tasks such as quality assurance. Conducts diagnostic and specialized CT imaging while exercising professional judgment throughout all procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Prepares and positions patients appropriately for each examination, ensuring proper documentation on images and completion of required questionnaires.
- Manages designated work areas and procedures, producing high-quality technical images and reviewing exams for accuracy and completeness.
- Assists physicians during procedures as needed.
- Performs equipment quality assurance, routine calibrations, and informs senior staff when supplies need replenishing.
- Participates in emergency procedures and provides on-call, holiday, overtime, and variable shift coverage to maintain safe departmental operations.
- Maintains cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate technical support personnel.
- Processes images and prepares CDs when necessary.
- Performs routine administrative tasks such as answering phones, reviewing prior reports or images, and documenting patient information in required systems.
- Coordinates with transport services when patients are ready to move.
- May serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned.
- Interacts with all individuals in a professional and courteous manner, upholding organizational behavior expectations.
- Introduces self, verifies patient identity using two identifiers, and explains procedures to patients or family members.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in providing care to various patient populations including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.
- Performs required quality assurance tasks and calibrations in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training; performs additional related duties as required.
- Duties and schedules may change based on departmental needs.
- Participates in standby/on-call rotations for emergency imaging coverage.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Maintains awareness of department-specific protocols, including those involving contrast administration and emergency response procedures.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiography or allied health imaging program.
- State licensure or limited permit as required.
- ARRT registered in Radiography (R) and certified in CT (CT), with documented training and experience in CT operation, radiation physics, and radiation protection.
- Completion of continuing education requirements as mandated by governing bodies (e.g., 24 CE credits every two years).
- IV certification as required.
- BLS certification required within designated timeframe after hire.
- Completion of radiation-dose safety pledges and related orientation requirements.

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to remain stationary for up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to move throughout the department as needed to access patients and perform tasks.
- Regular use of computers and related equipment.
- Frequent communication with patients; must provide clear and accurate information.
- Frequent patient movement and positioning required.
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary for imaging operations; safety information is provided through standard workplace chemical safety resources.
