Athletic Trainer

Position Summary

The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) provides comprehensive sports medicine support, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes. This role delivers daily practice and game coverage, manages athletic injuries, oversees performance programming, and maintains accurate clinical documentation. The Athletic Trainer may also support outreach services for school, recreational, or collegiate athletic programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site athletic training coverage for practices, games, and events
• Assess, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries
• Develop and implement sport performance and injury prevention programs
• Maintain accurate medical records and injury documentation
• Coordinate care under the direction of the medical director and the healthcare team
• Communicate with athletes, coaches, parents, and medical providers regarding care plans
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards
• Participate collaboratively in a team-based sports medicine environment

Work Environment

• Primary assignment at a high school athletic program in South Carolina
• May include outreach coverage for additional athletic teams or organizations

Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field
• Board of Certification (BOC) certification is required

Licensure & Credentials

• Eligible for Athletic Trainer licensure in South Carolina
• Current CPR and AED certification required
