Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Occupational Medicine clinic. The provider will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to employees and employers, focusing on work-related injuries, regulatory physicals, and preventive occupational health services. This role offers a predictable schedule, collaborative environment, and the opportunity to support workforce health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses
- Perform occupational health physicals (pre-employment, DOT, return-to-work, fit-for-duty, surveillance exams)
- Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) exams (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Develop and implement treatment plans and coordinate follow-up care
- Provide suturing, splinting, wound care, and other minor procedures
- Interpret basic diagnostic studies (X-rays, EKGs, spirometry, audiograms, lab results)
- Communicate effectively with employers regarding work status and restrictions
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with supervising/collaborating physician and clinic team
Qualifications
Required:
- Current, unrestricted NP or PA license in [State]
- Board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
- DEA license (or eligibility)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience (urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or occupational medicine preferred)
Preferred:
- Experience in Occupational Medicine
- DOT Medical Examiner certification
- Experience with workers’ compensation cases
- Proficiency with EMR systems
