Full-Time Mammography Technologist

Location: Tucson, Arizona


Job Summary

The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality mammographic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the detection and diagnosis of breast disease. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate patient care while ensuring safety, comfort, and compliance with imaging standards and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Operate mammography equipment and perform mammographic imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality, including density, contrast, definition, and absence of distortion.
  • Educate patients on mammography procedures and the importance of routine breast health screening.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure equipment is cleaned, calibrated, and functioning properly.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist with mammography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Radiologic Technologist and Mammography licensure in the State of Arizona.
  • Current hands-on CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of standard mammography concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining high standards of patient care.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and frequently stand or walk throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity required for positioning patients and operating imaging equipment.


Work Schedule

Full-time position. Schedule may vary based on operational needs.


Dress Code

Business casual attire or scrubs, depending on department requirements.
