We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented orthodontic assistant to join our team! As an orthodontic assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the orthodontist and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Chairside Assistance:Assist the orthodontist during patient consultations, examinations, and treatment procedures.
• Prepare treatment areas, ensuring they are clean and sterile.
• Help with the application and removal of orthodontic appliances (braces, retainers, aligners).
• Take impressions of patients' teeth.
• Assist with placement of separators or bands.
• Take x-rays and intraoral photographs.
• Patient Care:Greet patients and make them feel comfortable.
• Update and maintain patient records.
• Schedule appointments and answer patient phone calls.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and education on proper care of orthodontic appliances.
• Explain treatment plans and answer patient questions.
• Administrative and Clinical Support:Sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Stock treatment rooms with necessary supplies.
• Assist with insurance and billing processes (as applicable).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the orthodontist.

Qualifications:

• Dental assistant certification (preferred) or experience in a dental setting
• Knowledge of orthodontic terminology and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Friendly and compassionate demeanor
• Proficiency in computer software (dental practice management software a plus)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
