Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Manager of Facilities Management to direct the running of our hospitals and create a safe and efficient work environment that improves performance and optimizes staff productivity. Duties for the Manager of Facilities Management will include directing facilities functions, implementing policies and safety procedures, engaging with vendors and contractors, minimizing hazards, preparing facilities budgets and monitoring expenditure, ensure continuous efficient and economical operation of the hospital’s equipment, machines, plant, and building. Your skills in managing facilities and directing facilities functions will assist our organization in creating integrated spaces, minimizing disruptions to overall business operations, improve working conditions, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for staff, patients, and their families.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess good communication skills, excellent organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions, and project management experience. The outstanding Director of Facilities Management must understand the technical aspects of the property, support day to day business operations, ensure efficient operation of facilities, mitigate risk, and ensure that facilities meet the needs for in-patients, visitors, and personnel.


Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing contractors.
  • Handling security, cleaning, and catering.
  • Providing site support.
  • Coordinating routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Scheduling renovations.
  • Managing waste disposal.
  • Budgeting and estimating costs.
  • Designing and planning facilities layout.
  • Training staff on safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Environment of Care as defined by JCAHO, CARF, OSHA, EPA, FDA, FDOH and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Enginerring or related field

  • Seven (7) years’ experience required.
  • Five (5) years Managerial experience
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
  • Must be proficient in all subjects related to Facility Operations (engineering, maintenance, operating engineer, remodeling and construction, finance & management).
  • Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and Life Safety Codes, NFPA, EPA, UBC, CMS, KDHE, city and state fire regulations.
  • Working knowledge of State Healthcare Facility Regulations.
  • Computer literate: MS Office programs, Data Entry; Spreadsheets and ability to learn support software programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an automobile that is insured and in accordance with the state and/or organization requirements and in good working order.
