Job Summary:


As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations.Essential functions to the success of this role include:

  • Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
  • Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
  • Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
  • Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
  • Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
  • Support professional development to improve employee retention.




Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and managing the overall nursing services of the nursing home. 
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of nursing personnel, including licensed nurses and nursing assistants. 
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for residents. 
  • Ensure that nursing services are provided in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and nursing standards of practice. 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor the effectiveness of nursing interventions. 
  • Maintain accurate and complete resident records and ensure that confidentiality is maintained. 
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in resolving clinical and administrative issues. 
  • Monitor the availability and use of equipment and supplies and recommend purchases or replacements as needed. 
  • Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new nursing personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

  • 2 years clinical RN experience
  • 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
  • Current RN License to practice in state of employment 
  • Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc. 
  • Nursing Specialty Certification:
  • Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire
  • Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire
