Job Summary:
As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations.Essential functions to the success of this role include:
- Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
- Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
- Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
- Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
- Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
- Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
- Support professional development to improve employee retention.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and managing the overall nursing services of the nursing home.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of nursing personnel, including licensed nurses and nursing assistants.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for residents.
- Ensure that nursing services are provided in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and nursing standards of practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor the effectiveness of nursing interventions.
- Maintain accurate and complete resident records and ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in resolving clinical and administrative issues.
- Monitor the availability and use of equipment and supplies and recommend purchases or replacements as needed.
- Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new nursing personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements:
- 2 years clinical RN experience
- 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
- A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
- Current RN License to practice in state of employment
- Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.
- Nursing Specialty Certification:
- Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire
- Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire
