Job Description:


The Cardiac Department specializes in cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular, telemetry and has 36 beds. Our patient mix is cardiac, cardiac surgical, vascular, pulmonary, arrhythmias and we receive overflow from other departments. Our mission is to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Plus, we provide our own cardiac classes including telemetry training. We have self-scheduling with department schedulers to even out the schedule. We look for candidates that are motivated, want to learn and have a great work ethic.

 

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.



Responsibilities:


  • Provide constant, direct attention to those under your care.
  • Responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient's individual physician.
  • Monitor the condition of the patients and assess their needs to ensure they are healthy.
  • Administer medications, provide treatments according to physicians' orders, and monitor the patient's reactions.
  • Educate patients and families on health and treatment, current document progress, and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals involved.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
  • Assist in planning further care and the discharge process.

Requirements:


Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

  • One year experience Required
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certification Requirements

  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
