Position Summary:

The Pediatric Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality primary care services in an outpatient clinic setting, with a focus on pediatric populations. This position involves both independent practice and collaborative care as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Physician ensures delivery of patient-centered, culturally competent medical services, while adhering to clinical best practices and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Deliver comprehensive pediatric primary care, including preventive screenings, diagnostic assessments, immunizations, and treatment plans.
  • Perform minor outpatient procedures within the scope of licensure and credentialing.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnoses, treatments, and required follow-up care.
  • Coordinate care with other providers, specialists, pharmacists, and community resources as appropriate.
  • Ensure appropriate specialty referrals and follow-up for diagnostic or hospital-based care.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training for ancillary healthcare staff in coordination with clinic leadership.

Quality & Compliance

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives including chronic care programs, immunization strategies, and peer review activities.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and HRSA standards.
  • Adhere to non-discrimination principles and provide equitable care regardless of patients’ background or ability to pay.
  • Engage in audits and accreditation processes to support organizational compliance with national standards.
  • Maintain licensure, DEA registration, board certification, and required continuing education.

Team & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Attend required provider meetings and participate in clinical committees or task forces as assigned.
  • Provide occasional after-hours and weekend care as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Advocate for patient well-being and promote a respectful, inclusive, and service-oriented clinical environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in pediatric medicine.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
  • Valid, unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Must be eligible for credentialing with public and private insurance providers.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain malpractice insurance coverage.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and clinical problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
