Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Lymphedema Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will specialize in the treatment of patients with lymphedema and related conditions, providing individualized care to promote optimal function, reduce swelling, and improve quality of life. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients with lymphedema or at risk of developing lymphedema to develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), including manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging, exercise prescription, and skin care
- Educate patients and caregivers on self-management techniques and long-term care strategies
- Document clinical findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and goals
- Participate in continuing education and maintain certification in lymphedema therapy
- Adhere to organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Current and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of MD (or compact)
- Experience or exposure in treating patients with lymphedema preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team
Preferred Experience:
- Certification in Lymphedema Therapy (CLT) *If not already certified, employee will need to obtain during employment*
- Familiarity with oncology rehabilitation, vascular disorders, or chronic wound care
- Experience in outpatient rehab settings or community-based therapy
