Job Summary:

The Mammography Technologist performs a wide range of routine and advanced imaging procedures and supports other imaging technologists as needed to ensure efficient patient flow. This role requires flexibility, including working various shifts and locations. Responsibilities include equipment troubleshooting, participating in quality assurance (QA), and resolving issues with image processing and archiving systems. Ongoing education and keeping current with safety standards and technical advancements are expected. The technologist must maintain imaging competencies as defined by leadership and uphold professional behavior in alignment with the organization’s standards.

  • Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and standards of care as mandated by regulatory bodies.
  • Perform imaging procedures to support patient care within the technologist’s scope of certification and competence.
  • Work varied shifts and at multiple locations as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely uploading of completed exams into the PACS system.
  • Serve as a PACS Superuser during system downtimes, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and ensure proper follow-up with management or biomedical staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or an equivalent accepted program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical imaging required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of mammography experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency required.
  • Current certification in Mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Valid state licensure required:
  • Example: Texas – Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license through the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Work Schedule:

5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
