Director – Cardiac Care / Med Surg (Days)

We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Cardiac Care and Medical-Surgical Services to provide strategic and operational leadership in a high-acuity hospital setting. This role is ideal for a passionate nurse leader committed to clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation in patient care.

About the Facility

Our 238-bed acute care hospital provides comprehensive services to meet the diverse needs of our community. We offer advanced cardiac care, women’s services, and dedicated adult and pediatric emergency care. The hospital is certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care, accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center, and recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. Additional specialties include orthopedic and joint replacement, robotic surgery, vascular, and interventional services.

The hospital also houses the region’s only Level III NICU and Pediatric ICU, ensuring continuous, high-quality care for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead department operations, ensuring quality, safety, and performance improvement.
• Develop and implement systems to optimize patient flow across the continuum of care.
• Build a strong culture of education and professional development for staff and patients.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance outcomes.
• Evaluate and integrate new technology and service lines.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary conferences for complex or high-risk patients.
• Lead and oversee department projects and research initiatives under the IRB.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing nursing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN or APRN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 5 years of recent acute care nursing leadership experience.
