Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment within outpatient, PHP, and IOP levels of care. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, prescribing medications (including MAT), and supporting collaborative, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities (Streamlined)
- Conduct psychiatric and substance use assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Provide ongoing medication management, including FDA-approved Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Develop individualized treatment and medication plans based on patient needs.
- Monitor treatment response, adherence, and side effects.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment options.
- Collaborate with therapists and clinical staff for integrated treatment planning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Consult with medical/psychiatric colleagues for complex cases as needed.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited PMHNP program.
- Current RN license and PMHNP board certification (ANCC or AANP).
- Authorization to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the applicable state.
- Active prescriptive authority (DEA, CDS).
- CPR certification.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years providing psychiatric care as an NP (outpatient, PHP, IOP, or inpatient).
- Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria and evidence-based addiction treatment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong diagnostic and prescribing skills.
- Ability to work with co-occurring disorder populations.
- Proficiency with electronic health records.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Crisis intervention and safety-planning skills.
- Team-based, collaborative approach to care.
Work Environment
- Outpatient behavioral health setting with PHP/IOP involvement.
