Job Title: Stain & Glaze Technician (Fixed Finishing)

Role Summary

The Stain & Glaze Technician is responsible for the esthetic finishing of fixed restorations. Your primary focus will be on staining, glazing, and achieving a final polish that meets specific shade outcomes, controlled value/chroma, and natural surface characterization. Beyond esthetics, you will support fit and occlusion touch-ups and collaborate with the broader team to document process improvements and reduce remakes.

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-finish QC & Case Verification: Confirm case IDs, shades, and materials. Perform visual quality checks and escalate issues before finishing begins.
• Stain & Glaze Execution: Deliver consistent outcomes for routine shades and manage value/chroma independence. Follow SOPs to prevent defects like over-staining or patchiness.
• Texture & Characterization: Apply natural surface textures and characterization to meet high esthetic standards. Execute final polish sequences tailored to specific materials to ensure durability and luster.
• Functional Adjustments: Identify and correct standard fit, contact, or occlusion issues within the finishing scope; escalate complex fit issues to the Lead.
• Continuous Improvement: Document remake drivers and share patterns with leadership to help update SOPs and improve upstream digital/analog processes.

Qualifications

• Prior dental lab experience in zirconia stain & glaze is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in shade matching, surface characterization, and final polishing.
• A sharp eye for detail with the ability to catch errors early and follow repeatable, low-variability processes.
• Comfortable working within an SOP-driven environment while maintaining high-quality output.
