Vice President, Emergency Services

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday

Location: Houston, Texas ( Relocation+ Sign on Bonus Offered)

Overview

• Executive leadership role overseeing Adult ED, Pediatric ED, and 3 Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs)
• Responsible for clinical quality, operations, people leadership, growth strategy, and financial performance across Emergency Services

Scope of Responsibility

• Oversight of Adult ER, Pediatric ER, and 3 FSEDs
• Adult ER: 37 beds | ~182 patients/day
• Pediatric ER: 10 beds | ~40,000 annual visits
• Total FTEs: ~160
• Direct reports: 3 Directors (Adult ED, Pediatric ED, FSEDs)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Emergency Services strategy, operations, and business growth
• Drive clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
• Oversee patient throughput, capacity planning, and patient flow
• Partner with physicians and senior leadership to enhance services
• Manage budgets, labor productivity, and cost-effective resource utilization
• Develop, coach, and retain high-performing leadership teams
• Ensure exceptional patient and employee experience
• Lead performance improvement, financial results, and service line differentiation

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent Director-level Emergency Services experience (within last year)
• Experience leading Level I or Level II Trauma Center Emergency Departments
• Experience managing 80,000+ annual ED volumes
• BSN required
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree required or in progress
• Active RN license (compact license accepted)
• BLS required
