Registered Nurse – Pediatric CVOR

Location: Houston, TX ( Relocation offered)

  • 1+ year acute care experience, preferably with post-cardiac surgery patients
  • Experience in NICU, Mother/Baby, PICU, or pediatrics is a plus



Full-Time – Nights – Rotating Weekends

Shift Options: 5x8, 4x10, or 3x12 hours options

Call: $5.00 hour Call

Sign on bonus eligible



We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. This role requires specialized nursing expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the broader perioperative team to ensure safe and compassionate care.



What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate and prepare pediatric patients prior to surgery
  • Provide education to patients and families about procedures and perioperative care
  • Administer preoperative medications and intravenous therapy
  • Participate in surgical site verification, briefing, time-out, and debriefing protocols
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and deliver evidence-based care
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to optimize surgical outcomes
  • Document care and patient status thoroughly

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred (or enrollment with completion in 24 months)
  • 1+ year acute care experience, preferably with post-cardiac surgery patients
  • Experience in NICU, Mother/Baby, PICU, or pediatrics is a plus
