Physical Therapist – Train Athletes, Treat Runners, Never Double Book
What if your outpatient PT job gave you the time, tools, and support to actually practice the way you were trained?
Join a physical therapist-owned outpatient practice in Hopkinton, MA, steps from the Boston Marathon start line, where you'll treat an active, motivated patient population with true 40-minute one-on-one care, no double booking, no aides or assistants, and no Saturdays.
This is an opportunity to work with runners, athletes, active adults, and patients with a variety of orthopedic and specialty rehabilitation needs—without the high-volume model often associated with outpatient PT.
Why This Role Stands Out
- 40-minute, one-on-one evaluations and treatments
- Never double booked
- No aides or assistants
- Approximately 12 patients per day
- No Saturdays
- Flexible scheduling options
- Strong mentorship and team support
- Opportunities to develop your own clinical interests
- Therapist-owned, community-focused practice
Treat an Active, Interesting Patient Population
Located in a community synonymous with running, this clinic serves active patients across the lifespan.
Your caseload may include:
- Outpatient orthopedics
- Running-related injuries
- ACL and post-operative rehabilitation
- Return-to-sport
- CrossFit and strength athletes
- Concussion rehabilitation
- Neurological conditions
- Pelvic health
The clinic is well equipped for advanced rehabilitation with an Anti-Gravity treadmill, Blood Flow Restriction training, dry needling, Rogue strength and conditioning equipment, private treatment rooms, and a large treatment and training space.
A Thoughtful Start — Not a Full Caseload on Day One
Your onboarding is designed to give you time to learn the practice and build your caseload gradually.
Day 1 includes orientation, HR onboarding, NetHealth EMR training, and approximately a 50% caseload.
Your schedule then builds progressively, with the goal of reaching a full caseload around week three.
Invest in Your Clinical Growth
Professional development is part of the culture—not something you're expected to pursue entirely on your own.
You'll have access to:
- $1,500 annual continuing education allowance
- Yearly in-house continuing education
- Monthly journal clubs and team development
- Ongoing mentorship
- Opportunities to develop specialty interests and programming
- $1,000/year student loan reimbursement
- Massachusetts PT license reimbursement
- Employer-paid professional liability insurance
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $86,500–$102,000, based on experience
Additional weekly and quarterly earning and recognition opportunities are available based on performance.
Benefits include:
- 401(k) with 4% employer match
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Generous PTO and paid holidays
- Continuing education and student loan reimbursement
- Massachusetts PT license reimbursement
- Employer-paid professional liability insurance
- Massachusetts PFML
- Monthly staff lunches and company outings
Reduced schedules may also be considered, with compensation adjusted proportionately.
What We're Looking For
- Massachusetts-licensed Physical Therapist or eligible for Massachusetts licensure
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred
- Interest in treating active and athletic populations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Desire to continue learning and developing clinically
New graduates with a strong interest in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
The Bottom Line
If you love treating runners, athletes, and active patients but don't want to sacrifice quality care or your own quality of life to work in outpatient PT, this is an opportunity to have both.
You'll get 40-minute one-on-one care, zero double booking, no aides or assistants, no Saturdays, a gradual onboarding process, strong professional development, excellent equipment, and a base salary up to $102,000—within a therapist-owned practice built around quality care and long-term clinician growth.
