About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide in-home outpatient therapy services alongside licensed Physical Therapists. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, one-on-one patient care in a home setting—while enjoying flexibility, autonomy, and a manageable documentation workload.

As a PTA, you will implement individualized treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic exercises, and play a key role in helping adults restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve functional independence.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Flexible Scheduling: Choose your service area and set your preferred weekly visit volume.
  • In-Home Outpatient Model: Provide outpatient-level care without the clinic grind.
  • Streamlined Documentation: No VNA-style paperwork burden.
  • Meaningful 1:1 Care: Build stronger patient relationships in a home environment.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with experienced Physical Therapists while maintaining autonomy in your daily treatments.

  • Communicate patient responses and status changes to the supervising PT

Patient Education

  • Instruct patients in prescribed exercises with proper technique
  • Reinforce home exercise programs and self-management strategies

Collaboration & Professional Practice

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in care discussions and team meetings
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of therapeutic equipment
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Clinical Focus

  • Orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Neurologic conditions
  • Balance and fall prevention
  • Chronic pain management
  • Geriatric rehabilitation

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active Massachusetts PTA license in good standing
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred (geriatric experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Home-based adult care experience is strongly preferred.

Working Environment

  • Primarily mobile, community-based in-home outpatient services
  • Requires occasional lifting and patient mobility assistance

Benefits

  • 401(k) with 3.5% employer match
  • PTO and sick leave
  • Workers’ compensation coverage
  • Mileage reimbursement at current federal rate
  • Continuing education reimbursement up to $250/year
  • Flexible scheduling options

This position is ideal for PTAs who want professional flexibility, collaborative support, and the opportunity to deliver meaningful, patient-centered care outside of a traditional clinic setting.
