Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Full Time
Position Summary
The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across all applicable areas of the facility. This role is responsible for performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care and perform respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with established policies and clinical standards
- Assess patient conditions, monitor responses to treatment, and adjust care as appropriate in collaboration with the care team
- Organize workload to ensure timely and effective completion of prescribed therapies
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide appropriate respiratory interventions
- Accurately document patient care, treatments, and outcomes in medical records
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and care plans
- Evaluate patient outcomes and provide recommendations for ongoing care
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care from a CoARC-accredited program
- Zero to less than one year of experience (new graduates encouraged to apply)
Licensure & Certifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire for new graduates)
- Participation in the NBRC Continuing Competency Program (if credentialed after July 1, 2002)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 3 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
