This is an opportunity to work alongside a Nurse Practitioner in a collaborative outpatient clinic setting where patients receive personalized, high-touch care and team members are empowered to make an impact every day.

 

The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering exceptional care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. You will partner closely with the Nurse Practitioner to support a panel of senior patients through clinical care, coordination, patient education, and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Room patients, obtain vitals, histories, and medication reviews.
  • Prepare patients for exams, tests, and procedures.
  • Assist with vaccinations, EKGs, ABI testing, spirometry, and other approved procedures.
  • Draw blood, collect specimens, and prepare lab shipments.
  • Support medication refill requests and prior authorizations.
  • Provide education on prevention, lifestyle, and chronic disease management.

 

Care Coordination

  • Schedule follow-up visits, labs, imaging, and referrals.
  • Retrieve outside records and manage clinical documentation.
  • Follow up with patients, caregivers, pharmacies, hospitals, and specialists.
  • Help patients navigate resources related to their care plan.

 

Clinic Operations

  • Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day.
  • Stock rooms, maintain supplies, and support equipment readiness.
  • Ensure infection control and safety compliance.
  • Monitor vaccine inventory, medication storage, logs, and quality standards.

 

Team & Culture

  • Create an outstanding patient experience.
  • Collaborate closely with providers and teammates.
  • Participate in team meetings and community outreach efforts.
  • Support coworkers and provide coverage when needed.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training/onboarding program
  • 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Primary Care experience preferred
  • BLS certification (preferred)
  • Laboratory experience preferred
