Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Designer / Dental CAD Technician to join our growing team in Minnesota. This role is ideal for a highly skilled, well-rounded dental technician with advanced digital design expertise and a passion for quality, efficiency, and mentorship. The successful candidate will be proficient in both 3Shape and Exocad, capable of handling complex restorative cases, and comfortable training and supporting fellow technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Design high-quality dental restorations using 3Shape and Exocad software.
- Create digital designs for:
- Anterior crowns and veneers
- Anterior implant restorations
- Full-arch and large bridge cases
- Implant-supported prosthetics
- Complex cosmetic and restorative cases
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure restorations meet functional and esthetic standards.
- Review and troubleshoot digital workflows and case designs.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to other CAD/CAM technicians.
- Assist in developing best practices and standard operating procedures for digital design workflows.
- Stay current with advancements in digital dentistry, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
- Work closely with clinicians and internal teams to ensure case accuracy and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in dental CAD/CAM design.
- Advanced proficiency with 3Shape Dental System and Exocad.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, esthetics, and restorative principles.
- Extensive experience designing:
- Anterior restorations
- Anterior implant cases
- Large bridgework and complex restorative cases
- Familiarity with a wide range of dental materials, including:
- Zirconia
- Layered zirconia
- Lithium disilicate (e.max)
- PMMA
- Composite materials
- Implant restorative components
- Ability to troubleshoot design and production challenges independently.
- Leadership, coaching, and training experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDT certification is a plus.
- Experience with digital workflows from scan to final restoration.
- Experience supporting laboratory process improvement initiatives.
- Strong cosmetic and esthetic design skills.
