As a Certified Athletic Trainer, you are often the first healthcare professional athletes turn to for injury prevention, evaluation, and recovery support. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with student-athletes while collaborating with Physical Therapists, physicians, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to promote health, safety, and peak athletic performance.

This position is based on-site at a large high school and offers a dynamic environment focused on sports medicine, injury management, and community engagement.


Position Summary

The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is responsible for providing athletic training services to student-athletes, including injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention programs. The ATC will work closely with healthcare providers, coaches, and school personnel to ensure safe participation in athletic activities and successful return-to-play outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, assess, and treat athletic injuries and conditions.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and movement screenings.
  • Provide athletic event and sideline coverage for practices and competitions.
  • Design and oversee return-to-play and return-to-work programs.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding patient care and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, and athlete progress.
  • Build relationships with local schools, coaches, athletic programs, and community organizations.
  • Educate athletes, parents, and coaches on injury prevention, wellness, and recovery strategies.

Qualifications

  • Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Current state Athletic Trainer license or eligibility for licensure in the state of employment.
  • Strong interest in sports medicine, injury prevention, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with athletes, coaches, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience providing athletic training services in a high school, collegiate, or sports medicine setting preferred.
  • Experience with sideline coverage and emergency response protocols preferred.
