Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a collaborative healthcare team in Wisconsin. This position provides respiratory care to patients through a variety of therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support services.

The ideal candidate is committed to excellent patient care, works well in a team environment, and is comfortable caring for patients with a wide range of respiratory needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and provide appropriate respiratory therapy treatments and interventions.
  • Set up, monitor, adjust, and manage mechanical ventilator systems.
  • Administer aerosolized medications and medical gases safely and effectively.
  • Provide artificial airway care and management, including emergency airway support.
  • Perform bronchopulmonary hygiene and airway clearance procedures.
  • Provide manual resuscitation and airway management when necessary.
  • Perform pulmonary function testing, including FVC, SVC, and MVV studies.
  • Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Obtain and evaluate physiological specimens and cardiopulmonary data.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments, assessments, and patient progress.
  • Receive and document appropriate verbal orders from authorized healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
  • Perform endotracheal airway insertion and management after required training and competency validation.
  • Provide vascular access for appropriate patients following required training and competency validation.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), or eligible to sit for the registry examination.
  • Registry credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already completed.
  • Current or eligible for Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Current NRP certification or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.
  • New graduates who meet licensing and credentialing requirements are encouraged to apply.
