Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join our dynamic clinical care team in Lubbock, Texas. Operating within a designated Stroke-Certified Hospital, this role delivers high-quality diagnostic evaluations and targeted rehabilitation programs for complex patient populations. Our facility emphasizes functional recovery, actively encouraging home evaluations and community outings where clinically appropriate to support seamless patient reintegration.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Evaluation & Care Planning: Conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations, formulate precise clinical plans of care, and deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to patient recovery goals.
- Specialized Neurological Rehabilitation: Utilize advanced clinical strategies to treat stroke and neurological patients within a certified stroke care environment.
- Functional Community Integration: Lead functional home assessments and community outings when clinically indicated to promote real-world mobility and independence.
- Interprofessional Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and nursing staff to ensure cohesive, multidisciplinary care coordination.
- Documentation & Compliance: Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and preliminary reports adhering to facility protocols and regulatory standards.
Schedule & Coverage Requirements
- Standard Hours: Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Weekend Rotation: Required coverage of two (2) weekend days per month (may increase to 3 weekend days during months with five weekends).
- Holiday Rotation: Fair and equitable rotation for Thanksgiving and Christmas coverage, with holiday shifts structured as half-days whenever possible. Staff support holiday offloading by working either the Sunday before or the Saturday following Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program (Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred).
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas (or eligibility for Texas licensure).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required; Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS) or specialized neurological interest is a plus.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, patient advocacy, excellent interpersonal communication, and a dedication to continuous professional growth.
