Registered Nurse - Acute Telemetry Stroke and Neuro

Location: Lake Charles, LA
Status: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift or Night Shift - 3 x 12-hour shifts

A leading acute-care hospital in Lake Charles, LA is hiring experienced Acute Telemetry (Stroke/Neuro) Registered Nurses caring for stroke and neurology patients on telemetry. In this role you will practice independently, manage both routine and complex care, and work alongside a supportive interdisciplinary team. New hires receive a structured orientation and are precepted by a trained staff member.

What You'll Do

• Practice independently while recognizing all relevant aspects of each patient situation
• Provide nursing care through the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation
• Complete a unit-specific competency validation with a trained preceptor
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency or specialized orientation program

What You Bring

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact (multistate) license
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time - 3 x 12-hour shifts
• Day shift and night shift positions available
• Pay range: $27.50 - $43.00 per hour
