Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $100,000 – $140,000
• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
• Annual Incentive Bonus: Up to 17.5%
• Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis

A respected acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Hospital Laboratory Director to lead all laboratory operations, drive quality outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all laboratory services.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies including CAP, Joint Commission, CLIA, FDA, and CMS.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, onboarding, competency assessments, training, and performance management.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, accountability, and recognition.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource utilization, and financial performance.
• Prepare monthly operational and performance reports.
• Implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with hospital leadership, physicians, vendors, and support departments.
• Drive service excellence, patient satisfaction, and continuous process improvement.
• Promote clear communication, teamwork, and a culture of accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• National certification as a Medical Technologist required.
• State laboratory licensure required where applicable.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive laboratory leadership experience in complex laboratory operations.
• Prior leadership and team management experience required.
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience strongly preferred.
