Mammography Technologist – Mobile – 10 week contract

Job Title: Mobile Mammography Technologist

Location: Phoenix, AZ & Surrounding Cities (Mobile – Travel Required)

Schedule: Event-Based | Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities Available

Reports To: Clinical Manager / Operations Director

Position Summary

The Mobile Mammography Technologist performs screening mammography exams in a mobile environment using a Hologic 3D mammography unit. This role requires a seasoned technologist who is comfortable working independently within a mobile team dynamic and adhering to strict quality control and regulatory standards. Overnight travel is occasionally required, with all travel and hotel accommodations arranged by the company.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Mobile service throughout Phoenix, AZ and surrounding cities
• Occasional overnight travel required (travel and hotel arranged)
• Most events are approximately 9-hour days, including 1 hour prior to event start for required quality control
• Events may require daily QC testing, and twice daily QC when servicing two separate events in one day
• Technologist will work alongside a front desk staff member and driver

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening mammography examinations using a Hologic 3D mammography unit
• Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring comfort
• Conduct and document required quality control (QC) testing in compliance with MQSA and ACR standards
• Verify patient identification and ensure accurate documentation and image labeling
• Educate patients on the mammography process and address questions or concerns
• Maintain radiation safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance
• Collaborate effectively with mobile unit staff to ensure smooth event operations
• Travel to assigned mobile screening events

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
• ARRT Mammography (M) certification
• Active Arizona Medical Radiologic Technologist License
• MQSA-compliant continuing education
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
• Experienced/seasoned mammography technologist preferred due to mobile environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior mobile mammography experience
• Experience performing QC on Hologic 3D mammography systems
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, event-based setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and maneuver equipment and supplies
• Ability to safely assist and position patients
