PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (CLINICAL)
LOCATION: La Grande, OR
JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent
SCHEDULE: 8 hour days, Monday - Friday
The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a key role in delivering outstanding patient care. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience and a specialized skill set that enhances and broadens the services provided to the community. This position requires a genuine passion for helping others and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of clinicians and administrative staff to ensure smooth and continuous care. Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care by following established treatment plans under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, their families, referring doctors, and team members.
- Complete all required documentation promptly, adhering to facility and departmental policies.
- Continuously develop clinical expertise and professional growth through ongoing education and participation in relevant professional organizations.
- Inform patients, families, and clinical staff about any modifications to treatment approaches.
- Prepare documentation necessary for insurance, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement purposes, ensuring alignment with physician treatment plans.
- Contribute to the smooth operation and ongoing improvement of the department.
- Promptly notify the supervising therapist of any changes in patient condition or treatment needs.
- Accurately process and submit billing information for patient services.
- Strive to meet or exceed established productivity goals set by leadership.
- Apply sound professional judgment to maintain a safe environment for patients, colleagues, and yourself.
- Foster high-quality care through effective interdisciplinary communication.
- Participate in mandatory meetings as scheduled by clinical leadership.
- Communicate patients’ progress and responses to treatment plans clearly with therapists.
- Provide guidance and feedback to rehabilitation aides to support their performance.
- Engage in ongoing training sessions, in-services, and educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members to align treatment objectives and goals.
- Keep all required licenses and certifications current in accordance with state regulations.
- Stay informed about patient needs and community resources relevant to care delivery.
- Manage patient waitlists and assist administrative staff in optimizing appointment scheduling.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support clinic operations.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the appropriate governing body.
- Open to recent graduates and supportive of those starting their career journey.
- Current or eligible to obtain a Physical Therapist Assistant license in Oregon.
- Current or ability to obtain, a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
