About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Associate Medical Director to play a vital leadership role in advancing our mission of providing exceptional, patient-centered end-of-life care. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead clinical excellence in hospice care while ensuring dignity, comfort, and quality of life for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide eligibility assessments, certifications, and recertifications for hospice patients, including Face-to-Face (F2F) visits.
• Review and certify patients’ medical eligibility in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
• Offer oversight of physician services for the hospice program.
• Approve patient admission orders and ensure compliance with hospice policies.
• Collaborate with attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management.
• Provide medical consultation to the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
• Participate in or chair Medical Advisory Committee meetings.
• Review and sign admission documents and care plans within regulatory timeframes.
• Make home visits when needed and write appropriate orders.
• Ensure patient dignity, rights, and comfort are prioritized in all care decisions.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree with valid, unrestricted medical license and prescriptive authority in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year of hospice or palliative care experience.
• Board certification in hospice & palliative medicine highly preferred.
• Experience in medical leadership or clinical supervision desirable.
• Strong understanding of hospice regulations, Medicare standards, and compliance.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with healthcare teams, patients, and families.
• Passion for compassionate end-of-life care and commitment to hospice philosophy.
