Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist with advanced pediatric training to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. This role is designed for an experienced, residency-trained pharmacist who thrives in a high-acuity, collaborative environment and is passionate about advancing patient care for critically ill children.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical pharmacy programs that improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical services to patients in the PICU, ensuring evidence-based drug therapy management.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on drug utilization, dosing, and therapy optimization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in pediatric critical care pharmacotherapy.
  • Actively participate in PICU rounds, medication safety initiatives, and patient case reviews.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Support departmental initiatives including cost-containment strategies, quality improvement projects, and clinical research.
  • May assist in the supervision and training of pharmacy team members, residents, and students.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Training: Completion of a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency required.
  • Experience: Current clinical pharmacy experience in PICU or acute pediatric care setting


  • Licensure/Certifications:
  • Active Pharmacist license in the State of Texas (or eligibility).
  • Sterile Product Certification (in-house or accredited program).


  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced critical care environments.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy systems and clinical applications.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement and cost-containment practices.
