Job Summary


The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized therapy programs to help clients develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. The OT works collaboratively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote independence, safety, and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial functioning
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve daily living, work, school, and leisure skills
  • Educate clients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, educators, and other professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in discharge planning and transition of care as appropriate


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current licensure/registration as an Occupational Therapist in [State/Country]
  • Certification from relevant professional board (e.g., NBCOT)
  • CPR certification (preferred or required, depending on setting)

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients as required
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting
  • Ability to work in various environments (clinical, home, school, or community settings)


Preferred Experience (Optional)

  • Previous experience in [acute care / pediatrics / geriatrics / mental health / outpatient rehab, etc.]
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
