Mammography Technologist (Breast Imaging) – Full Time, Day Shift

The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in accordance with established protocols, regulatory standards, and best practices. This role ensures excellent image quality, patient safety, and compassionate care while supporting timely and accurate breast imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms following established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Select appropriate technical factors based on patient anatomy, pathology, and exam requirements.
• Ensure proper patient positioning, technique selection, and optimal image quality.
• Process and review images for interpretability and diagnostic quality.
• Verify patient identity and relevant medical history prior to examinations.
• Explain procedures, address patient concerns, and provide compassionate care.
• Adhere to MQSA and ACR standards and departmental policies.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including image review and equipment performance checks.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and breast health staff to coordinate care.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations or adverse patient reactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized imaging environment with adequate supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

• ARRT Certification in Mammography (M)
• South Carolina Radiologic Technologist License
• SC Radiation Quality Standards compliance
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
